2010 is off to a good start!

This year has been kind to American Zoot Shooters Association (AZSA). We attended the SHOT (Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada to promote our new sport with Auto-Ordnance. The Shooting Gallery episode based on the AZSA aired on the Outdoor Channel January 20th. We are gaining attention and memberships!
ROADTRIP INTO HISTORY – LITTLE BOHEMIA LODGE

A slightly overcast day in the northern woods of Wisconsin near a serene, picturesque lodge, along a quiet lake. Through the woods walks a forty-three year old man. Of average height and build, brown eyes with a glint of hazel sweeps the woods in a hunter’s gaze. Wearing a topcoat and fedora more styled to the 1930’s than 2009, his path takes him to the site of history. Bits of historical data stream through his mind, like a stream of .45 ACP bullets emerging from the heated barrel of a 1921 model Thompson submachine gun, or the harsh rasping bark of that heavy hitter, the Browning Automatic Rifle (or better known by its acronym B.A.R.) 75 years seem to fade……

From the start of Zoot Shooters a couple of guys on the east coast have been following us closely. They were the first people to contact us outside of our Colorado mob. After exchanging a few emails, it was not long before they held their own AZSA match. Their history as written by Tom "Boiler Maker" follows...
National Championship Match Conclusion

On August 29, 2009 at the Clear Creek County Sportsman's Club in Dumont, Colorado the American Zoot Shooters Association held its "Last Man Standing" National Championship match. We had 17 shooters, five Capers and three sponsors. Michael Bane, host and producer of Shooting Gallery, was on the scene with a film crew producing a future episode that should air in early 2010 on the Outdoor Channel.
Zoot Shooters 2009 “National Championship” Match

August 29th, 2009 will be what the AZSA is calling its first "National Championship" match. The match will be held at the Clear Creek County Sportsman's club in Dumont, CO. Start time is 10AM. There will be six Capers and the match fee is only $50! Random prize drawings will be donated by Auto-Ordnance (who will be attending and represented by Jodi DePorter), Sabre Defence and Tuffy Security Products. Match winners will receive cash prizes determined by the number of paid entries (hint: invite your friends so you may win more money).
